In January 2018 Veran launched a series of events supporting the Public Sector HR community in successfully moving to the cloud.

“Our experience of delivering projects in Government and beyond for Oracle Cloud, SAP SuccessFactors Cloud and Workday provides important lessons learnt for any Government body moving to the Cloud and these learnings are important for any business planning to make this move”

Helena Sedgwick, Government Lead for Veran.

Therefore responding to this need for greater collaboration across Government HR Teams, and the desire for more insight into best practice across both the private and public sector, led us to launch this series of tailored Phase Zero events, and cloud drop ins.

Phase Zero for Public Sector

Our experience of successful Cloud projects and programmes have underlined how important careful planning and preparation is.

We frequently see businesses invest time and attention into cloud implementations which through inadequate preparation deliver the poor results, or replicate the mistakes of the past.  We are committed to ensuring that this does not carry on in Public Sector by providing a programmatic preparatory stage, called Phase Zero for Government.

This draws on our cross sector and industry experience and is a tried & tested methodology that enables businesses to effectively plan their move to the Cloud and make the critical decisions ahead of any investment.

Our series of Phase Zero for Government events brought HR teams together across government to share experience and learn from this methodology. It even united some larger teams, working disparately within their departments.

Cloud Drop ins

By popular demand, we also introduced the opportunity for “Cloud drop-in’s”, inviting HR teams to come and discuss the opportunities and challenges of their specific HR cloud programmes confidentially with the most relevant experts in our team. These mornings, held weekly from January through March were a great success with sessions ranging from short one to ones to full mornings with entire teams coming for tailored planned sessions.

Throughout this series of events, we were excited to see that the drive and ambition to improve HR across the Public Sector is more alive than ever, with departments simply not accepting the poor results they have experienced in the past. In 2018 there is a real opportunity for Public Sector HR to step up and deliver real transformation in their departments.

Veran is excited to work with friends across Public Sector to help achieve these results and to share the learnings of our current projects at the Home Office and Cabinet Office across government.
