Labour Reforms: Relevant HR, Compliance and Regulatory Issues

Time & Venue

26 Nov 2024, 08:30 – 10:30

London, One London Wall, Barbican, London EC2Y 5EB, UK

About the event

Join other financial services organisations at the next panel session, where the team at Osborne Clarke will be exploring the key legal aspects and practical implications of: (i) the Labour government's Employment Rights Bill published on 10 October 2024; and (ii) the new duty on employers to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment of workers in the course of their employment which will come into effect from 26 October 2024. We will also discuss the other key proposed compliance and regulatory changes arising from Labour's first post-election Budget including any relevant changes to taxation and the regulation of buy now pay later firms.

Veran Performance will then explore how to align ESG initiatives with financial reporting and human capital strategies, ensuring that organisations are prepared to meet stakeholder expectations and drive sustainable growth. Finance leaders will gain insights into how ESG factors influence risk management, long-term value creation, and regulatory compliance, while HR leaders will explore the social and governance aspects that shape workforce well-being, diversity, equity, and corporate culture.

To close, we will open the floor to have a wider conversation about the continued drive to make financial services more inclusive.
