The ideal candidate will be a confident graduate or someone with experience in database administration, recruitment, telemarketing or sales. This role is for someone keen to help with anything from researching company phone numbers and email addresses to cleansing data, hosting events, writing proposals and presentations. This person needs to be eager to take ownership of tasks and open to taking on a variety of responsibilities. This is an excellent development opportunity for someone who wants to learn a broad range of skills and is interested in marketing, sales and business development.

All members of our team are encouraged to support these networks and participate in driving their growth & success.  As our Marketing & Sales Executive you will be expected to support the leaders of these groups with a range of marketing, data, research and administrative activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain our Marketing & Sales database; Input, cleanse and update data about the individuals and companies that we work with to drive growth, improve engagement and track success of marketing & sales activities.
  • Research leads and business opportunities; Use LinkedIn and other tools to research companies, find key contacts, and assist with pre-sales communication via social media, email and phone
  • Support email and telephone campaigns; Manage the administration of email campaigns, updating contacts and tracking results to deliver successful campaigns and constantly improve efficiency.
  • Make sales calls; phone new prospects and industry leaders to develop new relationships, secure guest speakers for our events, and arrange face to face meetings
  • Work with Marketing Manager to manage Social Media schedules for Veran and the networks we power; Ensuring timely publishing of all agreed content, research & analysis to guide new content creation, and timely responses to increase engagement.
  • Update & Maintain company websites: Publish regular content and take an active interest in website improvements.
  • Assist with a range of Veran events; support with event preparation and at the events themselves. ‘Can do’ attitude and willingness to get stuck in to all activities required for making these events a success. Happy to work outside normal hours if required.
  • Support with any other tasks, internal projects and communications as required; At Veran we all get stuck in. No job is too big or too small for anyone so willingness to do whatever needs to be done is essential.


  • Experience in recruitment, sales, call centre, customer service would be appreciated but more important is your attitude and desire to be successful in this role.

Skills and Attributes: 

  • Good IT skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as ability to quickly learn new platforms
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Willing to make cold calls, good at networking at events
  • Self-motivated, determined and able to take initiative
  • A fast learner, with a strong desire to develop new skills and learn from feedback
  • Highly organised and confident in managing the areas you are responsible for
  • Excellent attention to detail and desire to constantly improve your work
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Calm and cheerful under pressure, able to meet deadlines
  • Desire to succeed in business and learn as much as possible about our sector and work
  • Can do, positive attitude – no task is too big or too small for you!
